Theme Attics Comics

Did you ever spend your school days sketching superpowered battles in the margins of your notebooks? Dreaming up entire worlds and heroes that only existed in your mind? Before Alternity Comics, there was Theme Attics Comics—a raw, unfiltered creative playground where I first started putting those ideas to paper.

Theme Attics Comics was rough, experimental, and full of bold ideas. The first concept to come to life under TAC was Ravenous Rackem, a story that had been simmering in my brain for years—an X-Men-inspired epic set in a Mad Max wasteland. At its heart was Nihile, a warrior caught in a brutal conflict against the tyrannical Vanakin King, who harvested “Aurayans” to build a brainwashed army and take down the sinister Paustilite. Over time, my “mutants” evolved into Aurayans, and the story took on a life of its own.

Ravenous Rackem was originally released on Webtoon, but for the first time ever, it’s being published in physical form as part of the Theme Attics Omnibus, now available on Amazon!

Drahcir’s Slaughter – The Learning Curve of Comics

A title that might be familiar to Alternity Magazine readers is Drahcir’s Slaughter. If you don’t know Drahcir, let’s catch you up: He’s an evil wizard who stole a kingdom. Paranoid about an impending invasion, he sees only one solution—raising an unstoppable army through sheer force and fear. But in the process, he’s wronged too many people. Now, a ragtag Off-Fit Fellowship is coming for revenge, no matter the cost.

I created Drahcir’s Slaughter while I was still figuring out how to draw comics. One of the biggest excuses I hear from aspiring creators is, “I need to practice drawing more before I can make a comic.” There’s truth to that—there’s a skill level needed to tell a story visually—but the best way to learn comics is to make comics. You don’t know what you don’t know until you do it. (And let’s be honest—most people practicing art just draw people. Writing a comic forces you to draw everything: horses, helicopters, entire worlds!).

Jetburn – A Side Quest into a Shared Superhero Universe

As Theme Attics Comics was nearing its final stretch, we were invited to join a collaborative indie comic universe called The Expanse. The concept was ambitious—several indie creators, each retaining full ownership of their characters, but with the ability to loan them out to create the illusion of a larger, interconnected world.

My contribution to the project? Jetburn—a hero with amnesia, lost after barely surviving a plane wreck while escaping from his criminal boss, Orbital Dread. His journey would have been a search for lost memories, bringing him into crossover stories through an “Expanse Team-Up.”

Unfortunately, The Expanse disbanded just a few months after launch. With the project behind me, I decided to leave Jetburn behind as well. It was a fun experiment, but not every side quest leads to the final battle.

That said—who knows? Maybe Jetburn will resurface one day, but for now you can see his single adventure in Theme Attics Omnibus.

The End of an Era – Theme Attics Comics (2019–2024)

Theme Attics Comics had a solid run, but over time, my art and storytelling evolved. It felt right to start fresh—to build something bigger and better. Plus, let’s be real: Theme Attics Comics wasn’t the easiest name to say. (The number of puzzled looks I got when telling people about it? Too many to count.)

To celebrate the journey, we’re releasing The Theme Attics Omnibus, collecting:

• Drahcir’s Slaughter #1-2

• Jetburn #1

• Ravenous Rackem #1

• Rebolt #1 (Short Story)

• American Fighting Eagle #1 (Incomplete)

• + Character and story concepts!

Get the Theme Attics Omnibus now on Amazon for $19.99. Or, if you’re just looking to grab Ravenous Rackem #1 or the Drahcir’s Slaughter trade paperback (collecting #1-2), they’re available for $4.99 each at AlternityComics.com. (The Omnibus paperback has more content!)
